California police have arrested three people, including a 17-year-old girl, on Sept. 25 in connection with a triple homicide, according to local reports.
Frank Felix, 25, and Josh Acosta, 21, are suspected of killing Christopher Yost, 34; his wife, Jennifer Goodwill Yost, 39; and their friend, Arthur William Boucher, 28, according to a news release on the Fullerton Police Facebook page.
Although state laws prevents law enforcement from identifying minors, several news outlets reported that Katlynn Goodwill Yost, 17, was also arrested and faces murder charges. The Yosts are the mother and stepfather of Katlynn.
“We hope the quick arrest of these individuals will bring comfort to the community and assist the families of those affected by this unthinkable crime,” Sgt. Jon Radus said.
Officers responded to the home on 400 block of S. Gilbert Street on Sept. 24 around 8:20 a.m., after receiving a call from a child who said her parents “had died.” Once inside the home, responding officers found three bodies with obvious signs of trauma. Police also found two young girls—aged 6 and 9—unharmed. Investigators determined that a third minor, Katlynn, resided in the home, but were unable to locate her.
Police did not disclose where Katlynn was found or her relationships to the men. They did report that all the arrested individuals knew each other.
Boucher’s mother, Kimberly Gracier, 48, is still trying to wrap her head around the loss of her son.
“I’m still in shock,” Gracier told the Orange County Register. “I don’t know what to do. ... It was something stupid. He was just sleeping there.”
Gracier said Jennifer Yost was having problems Katlynn, because the teenager girl fancied older men. “It just seemed there was always something going on with the teenager,” she said.
Neighbor Donna Trice, 45, said her heart aches for the young girls who are now left orphaned. The young girls are the half sisters of Katlynn.
“It’s sad for the children; they’re now without parents,” Trice said. “The two little girls found the bodies and that tears me up.”
The motive is still unknown, and officers have not yet disclosed how the victims died.
