3 People Stabbed in Irvine, Suspect Arrested

A man who allegedly stabbed three people Jan. 3 has been arrested, according to the Irvine Police Department.

Ricardo De La Riva, 43, of Irvine, was booked at Orange County Jail on attempted murder and assault with deadly weapon charges.

Authorities responded to a possible stabbing at Culver Drive and Walnut Avenue at around 12:23 p.m. on Tuesday. Officers found two victims suffering from stabbing wounds, according to police. They were treated at the scene with minor injuries.

The suspect later ran to a nearby neighborhood and stabbed a third victim in the torso, police say. The victim was taken to a local hospital and is in stable condition.

Officers were able to quickly locate the suspect and made the arrest.
