Police were called to the Music City Central bus station at around 3:45 p.m. local time after witnesses heard gunshots.
The wounded people were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
Two people were taken into custody for questioning, police said.
A reporter with The Tennessean said they “heard at least one gunshot and watched as people ran, ducking behind stairwells and any other infrastructure for cover,” according to the paper.
The bus station is frequently used by teens who are getting out of high school.
Andre Gibson, who works nearby, said he is vigilant whenever we walks by the bus station.
“Bullets don’t have eyes, the don’t know direction. Bystanders could have been hurt,” Gibson said.
