During the winter we tend to spend more time indoors, which means that it’s absolutely important to have your space filled with things that make you happy. My favorite décor items are bold, bright, and beautiful –ones that can stand alone or be used with other pieces depending on the situation. If you’re looking to dress up your home for the Christmas season, here are a few ideas to get you started.
Sculptures
Sculptures are a great way to add a touch of sophistication to your holiday décor. Nestled amongst the garlands and greenery, or as a standalone feature, sculptures can make a bold and daring statement. Create your own winter wonderland by investing in some timeless sculptures that evoke a sense of the Christmas spirit.
Classic Candleholders
There are few things more inviting than a warm, crackling fire –or flickering candles. An arrangement of candles is one of the best ways to add a touch of warmth and elegance to your home this winter. Choose a collection of candleholders or pillar candles in staggered sizes, or arrange in sets of three or five for visual impact.
Festive Vases
Vases make the top of my list when it comes to Christmas décor items. There are so many styles and designs available, and vases are able to effortlessly compliment just about any type of décor. Vases can serve as standalone decorative items on their own, or fill them with poinsettias or holly to create beautiful centrepieces during the holidays. One tip for creating a beautifully-decorated home for Christmas is to choose one of your favourite pieces as inspiration, and then working out from there, choosing coordinating details that perfectly complement the main feature. When in doubt, remember that often, less is more –a few carefully chosen elements can have a big impact, and will leave your room looking merry and bright for the holidays.
