At least three people were shot and killed in a Las Vegas apartment, according to officials, who said the suspect has not been located yet.

Police spokesman Aaron Patty said that three adults were found shot inside a residence at 2200 block of Carroll Street, near Civic Center Drive and Lake Mead Boulevard, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.

Neighbors said they heard gunshots at around 4 p.m. local time Thursday, Dec. 28, and called the police. Two men and a woman were found dead inside, and officials didn’t find anyone else inside the home, the paper reported.

Police told The Associated Press that they don’t know the relationship between the people who died. It’s also unclear if they knew the gunman.

“We are really early in the investigation right now so things are very fluid, and developing as I speak,” Patty told the Review-Journal. “At face value, this is an obvious homicide that is cause for concern,” Patty said.

Streets in the area were blocked off as police investigate.

No other details were provided. No one is currently in custody, KDWN reported.

No gun was found at the scene.

The Review-Journal noted that the incident marks the 24h homicide investigation this year in North Las Vegas in 2017.

Police were urging those with information to call 702-633-9111 or Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
