NEW YORK—A 21-year-old arrested for a narcotics crime in East Harlem yesterday has escaped from the Manhattan Detention Complex, otherwise known as The Tombs, at 100 Centre St. in Manhattan’s Chinatown.
The circumstances surrounding his escape, including the time, how, and from what part of the building are under investigation, a police spokesperson said.
The young man is still at large, and a description is not currently available.
He will be facing additional charges for escaping custody.
