During an overcast spring day in Washington, D.C., and with the forecast of rain, over one hundred Falun Dafa practitioners of all ages gathered in the nation’s capital to celebrate World Falun Dafa Day on Saturday, May 10. Rain or shine, the practitioners were determined to go ahead with the annual event. Indeed, it did rain in the afternoon.

With the Washington Capitol building behind them, they practiced the Falun Dafa exercises and meditation together. They took group photos on the National Mall, while local residents and Washington’s many tourists looked on.

The Maryland House of Delegates too recognized World Falun Dafa day, which is May 13. It passed a resolution, which says, “The House of Delegates of Maryland offers its sincerest congratulations to Mr. Li Hongzhi in recognition of World Falun Dafa and your commitment to Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance through the practice of Falun Gong.” Maryland’s Senate also passed a similar resolution that honored Mr. Li, who is the founder and teacher of Falun Dafa.
