Locals in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, located 60 miles north of Philadelphia, are concerned about loud booms.
In Upper Black Eddy, 20 loud bangs have plagued locals since April. Fox29 reported that everyone in the town has heard the blasts, including one local who heard a blast at 3:30 a.m.
They’re likely explosions, the report revealed.
One local sent in pictures of the alleged damage that was done during the blasts.
Nick Zangli, an Upper Black Eddy local, said in a Fox29 video report that people are “suspicious about what it is.”
“It just seems like its a group of people who know enough to make explosives and setting off in desolate areas … and having fun with it,” he said. “Sooner or later, somebody’s gonna get killed,” he warned.
During one explosion heard at 3 a.m. on Mother’s Day, Zangli jumped out of bed.
“I happened to be awake and it scared the heck out of me,” said Zangli. “It was definitely a very large explosion.”
Zangli said that’s when he got his gun.
“It stopped everything, there was no crickets, no peepers, nothing, so I went in and loaded a firearm because I had no idea what was going on,” he added.
Zangli said that he spotted a large hole nearby about four feet wide and one foot deep.
“I stopped and looked at it,” he said. “It was obviously an explosion. It had blown debris across the road and stuff.”
Sue Crompton of Haycock Township described a similar situation on April 30 on a different road.
“We heard a big, big, huge sound and a big shock wave,” she said, the ABC affiliate reported. “Actually rumbled the whole room and our whole trailer and the windows.”
Investigators said that more than 20 explosions have been reported in Upper Bucks and Lehigh counties. There have been no injuries.
State police, the FBI, and the ATF are investigating, 6ABC reported.
