2 Buses Crash in New York’s Lincoln Tunnel: 34 Injured, 7 Badly

A crash involving two New Jersey Transit buses in New York City’s Lincoln Tunnel left several dozen people injured on Friday morning.

According to CBS New York, 34 people were injured. Of that figure, 7 were seriously hurt.

The buses were pulled out of the tunnel and put onto the shoulder.

The Fire Department of New York City said the accident took place around 10 a.m. local time in the center of the tunnel, according to The Associated Press.
Affiliate station 6ABC reported that the buses crashed as they were exiting the tunnel.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which manages the tunnel, didn’t issue a comment or statement on the matter, AP reported.

The Lincoln Tunnel connects New York City and New Jersey. It’s a main artery into New York City, located on the West Side of Manhattan.

Officials are investigating the cause of the crash.
