An 11-year-old girl in Louisville, Kentucky, drove a truck into her family’s home on Friday, and one person said she told police it’s because she “wanted to kill people,” reports said.

“(The officer) couldn’t believe what she said. He was like, ‘excuse me?’ And she said, ‘I wanted to kill people.’ And he said ‘I’m sorry, what did you say?’ And she said, ‘I wanted to kill people,’” Joshua Pate, the homeowner, told WDRB-TV.

Pate said that he overheard the comment from the girl as she talked to police. Five kids were in the living room during the crash.

He told Fox8 that a couch likely saved their lives.

“The loveseat slid around and made kind of like a barrier … the back of it is kind of high and I think the kids just slid with the loveseat,” Pate said.

The family of the child said that she has autism, and the grandmother said she may have been influenced by a TV show.

The girl and her family were not identified in the report. Police said they likely won’t press charges in the case.

Pate and another driver hit by the truck told WDRB that they’re considering filing a lawsuit against the family.

“Where were the parents when this little girl even got into the car?” witness Kristina Bryan said, KMOV reported. “How did this little girl even get access to the keys?”

Bryan’s car was totaled in the crash.
