MONTGOMERY, Ala.—College officials say one person has been injured after a shooting on the campus of a school in Alabama.

Local news media reports that the person suffered non-life threatening injuries after the shooting occurred in a parking lot at Auburn University at Montgomery on Friday afternoon. Campus police say the suspect has been arrested.

WSFA-TV reports that the shooting happened while campus police officers attempted to break up a fight. No other injuries have been reported.

The names of the victim and suspect have not been released. Police have not indicated if both the suspect or victim are students.

School officials sent an alert email to students letting them know about the shooting incident and that it’s clear to return to class.
