WORCESTER, Mass.—Thomas Plante saw the world-renowned Shen Yun Performing Arts for the first time at The Hanover Theatre on the evening of Jan. 13 and immediately made plans to see the performance again this season before Shen Yun changed its whole production for next year.
“I’m going to go back to Providence, I think it’s in May. So I’m going to see it again,” Mr. Plante shared after the performance.
“You know, America’s 400 years old. We’re talking about 5,000 years,” said Mr. Plante, an engineer. “So, you know, the people of China and the people of America aren’t all that different. We’re all strong families, you know, respect, honor. All this stuff is common to both cultures. So that’s the way I see it.”
‘Very Important’
Also in the audience was Dalmo Mello, an IT associate director, with his wife; he felt Shen Yun conveyed something positive and spiritual through chronicling 5,000 years of divinely inspired culture.
“I’m a Catholic, and I reach a point when I say that all spiritual beliefs are important, no matter from which religion you belong or from which you believe in. And I think that’s the message. It’s the beauty of believing something and fighting for that, you know, and to send a positive message to the rest of the world,” he said.
