‘Punisher’ targets drivers: A Russian bus driver, who is called “The Punisher,” targets other drivers who cut him off or display other bad behavior.
A Russian man called the “The Punisher” has drawn international attention for his take-no-prisoners approach to driving. He rams his bus into other cars who cut him off on Russian roads.
A series of videos of the Punisher’s antics have surfaced on YouTube.
The man, identified as Alexei Volkov by NBC News, has a dashboard camera equipped in his bus like many other Russian drivers, recording numerous instances of his bus slamming into other vehicles—no matter how big or small.
Volkov has claimed that over the years, he’s got into more than 100 accidents over the past several years.
But he said that no other drivers have been injured.
“If there is no fault of mine, the management doesn’t care,” he said of the bus company he works for in Zelenograd. “The bus usually gets only minor damage. If the damage is more serious, they just wait for the insurance payments and then repair [it].”
Volkov is viewed as somewhat of a folk hero in his home town.
“What can I say? They usually behave in a rude manner,” he said of other drivers. “I often see how [the] bus waits with the turn signal switched on for one-two minutes, and these ‘morons’ still continue [to squeeze] in. However, the situation is gradually improving … due to my educational work,” according to the National Post.
On his YouTube account, Volkov appears to have nearly two dozen videos of him ramming other cars.
