ULSAN, Korea—Deeply moved by Shen Yun’s premiere in Ulsan, Mr. Kim Jong Mu and his wife expressed in one accord that Shen Yun is a very touching and unforgettable performance.
“I was deeply enthralled by the performance. It’s an excellent production,” said Mr. Kim, member on Education Committee of Ulsan City Council, after seeing the performance on May 3, 2016.
Standing by her husband’s side, Mrs. Kim, who is president of a manufacturing company, added pleasantly, “Today’s performance was so marvelous that it was an unforgettable visual treat.”
Praising Shen Yun artists’ great endeavor in perfecting their performance over the past ten years, Mrs. Kim continued, “All of the performers’ movements were in great unison as if they were performed by just one performer. It must involve innumerable rehearsals.”
“Through the universal language of music and dance, Shen Yun weaves a wondrous tapestry of heavenly realms, ancient legends, and modern heroic tales, taking you on a journey through 5,000 years of Chinese culture. Its stunning beauty and tremendous energy leave audiences uplifted and inspired,” according to Shen Yun’s website.
“Today is indeed a meaningful day. Through the dance performance, I got an insight into the Chinese history,” she said. “I hope that Shen Yun can continue to perform,” she said.
The couple were deeply moved by the dance drama depicting a modern day story in China—the on-going persecution of Falun Gong practitioners who are steadfast in their beliefs.
“It was indeed very impressive,” Mr. Kim said. “Through this performance, I finally come to know that Falun Gong is being persecuted in China.”
Mrs. Kim agreed with her husband and said that she hoped the truth about the persecution could be widely spread so that “more people can know that this persecution is still going on in China.”
Learning that theaters in South Korea are threatened by Beijing to cancel Shen Yun’s shows, the couple was glad that Shen Yun could perform in Ulsan as scheduled.
The KBS Theater canceled the four Shen Yun performances scheduled in Seoul.
