Shakira and Carlinhos Brown are set to perform La La La (Brazil 2014) in the World Cup 2014 Closing Ceremony on Sunday, July 13.
The song was originally released on March 28, 2014 under the name Dare (La La La), and is the third single from her album, Shakira.
Shakira co-wrote the song with Jay Singh, Dr. Luke, Mathieu Jomphe-Lepine, Max Martin, Cirkut, Raelene Arreguin, Lisa Lalalila, and John J. Conte, Jr.
The World Cup 2014 version, which was released on May 27, is a remix, and is entitled La La La (Brazil 2014). It is the second theme song of the competition.
The first theme song is “We Are One (Ole Ola),” from Pitbull, which features vocals from Jennifer Lopez and Brazilian singer Claudia Leitte.
Shakira told the Daily Star the song is “an upbeat, Brazilian track.”
The music video of the song features Lionel Messi, Neymar, Cesc Fabregas, Sergio Aguero, Radamel Falcao, James Rodriguez and Eric Abidal.
Spanish player Gerard Pique, Shakira’s boyfriend and their son, Milan, also make an appearance in the music video.
