When it comes to winter hair care, it can be hard to strike the right balance of clean hair that’s also moisturized and conditioned, as the dry conditions brought about by living and working in heated spaces can wreak havoc on long hair, especially if you’re prone to dry, frizzy, or brittle hair and split ends. One solution can be to choose a shampoo and conditioner formulated specifically for winter hair care, such as the Maple Holistics Winter Blend Haircare Set, which I recently had the opportunity to experience for myself.

I’ve gone back and forth between being no-poo (no shampoo) and trying out various brands and formulations of shampoo and conditioner over the years, and now I think I’ve found the perfect balance, which is a combination of the two. By ’resetting' my hair care every so often with a baking soda wash and an apple cider vinegar conditioning rinse, and using a quality shampoo and conditioner the rest of the time, it feels like I get the best of both worlds, and my hair is healthy, shiny, and manageable.

However, finding the right winter hair care shampoo and conditioner can be challenging, to say the least, as there are approximately a gazillion different shampoo and conditioner brands and formulations on the market, even among the ‘natural’ hair care companies. With that in mind, I was a bit skeptical about the Maple Holistics winter hair care set, as the results of using many products often doesn’t match up to the claims from the companies themselves, but in this case, my family and I were pleasantly surprised to find that the company’s winter hair care shampoo and conditioner set lived up to its promises.

The Maple Holistics Winter Blend is all about mint, with five different varieties of mint oil in the formula – peppermint, spearmint, eucalyptus mint, bergamot mint, and wild mint – along with other healthy hair care components, including jojoba oil, argan oil, sea buckthorn, aloe, botanical keratin, and more. The Winter Blend shampoo is quick to form suds, cleans the hair and scalp without excessive drying, and rinses clean, leaving a cool, minty head of hair. The Winter Blend conditioner is full of silk amino acids, shea butter, and a blend of pomegranate, hibiscus, green tea, and sea buckthorn, and it leaves your hair soft, manageable, and smelling fantastic, with no greasy or waxy residue.
