Watch: 78-Year-Old Grandmother Deadlifts 225 Pounds

Most grandmothers don’t become famous, but most grandmothers can’t lift 225 pounds.

A video showing 78-year-old Shirley Webb doing just that is making her name known around the world.

Webb started an exercise regimen two years ago, after she struggled to get up after sitting or lying down.

Now Webb is in great shape after working out at Club Fitness in Wood River, Illinois, with her granddaughter.

Trainer John Wright has helped Webb get into shape. He said it’s the first time he’s worked with someone her age. 

“She’s gotten to the point where everybody greets her and is just absolutely impressed,” Wright told ESPN. “She inspires everybody that goes to the gym and it’s fun to see that.”

And Webb isn’t even close to being done.

“I have no intention of stopping right now,” she said. “When I go to the gym and work out, when I leave, I feel so much better than I did when I went in, and I just feel so good. I feel tremendous.”
