The Washington Nationals game scheduled for tonight has been postponed, the MLB said on Monday.
The game vs. the Atlanta Braves will be made up as a split doubleheader tomorrow, the league said.
The cancellation comes after the deadly shooting at the Washington Navy Yard earlier today.
At least 12 people have been killed from the shooting, with others injured and in area hospitals.
Fans applauded the MLB’s decision on Twitter.
“Right call under the circumstances,” said one, Matt Young.
Tonight’s @Braves–@Nationals game has been postponed and will be made up as split doubleheader tomorrow.
