Videos of the Day: 911 Call Recording From Burt Reynolds’s House Released

Burt Reynolds, whose good looks and charm made him one of Hollywood’s most popular actors as he starred in such films as “Deliverance,” “The Longest Yard” and “Smokey and the Bandit” in the 1970s and 80s, died on Sept. 6 at age 82.

Reynolds, who was set to appear next summer in the all-star cast of director Quentin Tarantino’s next film, died in the morning at a hospital near his South Florida home, according to his manager, Erik Kritzer.

A caretaker for Reynolds at his estate in Hobe Sound, north of Palm Beach, was heard telling an emergency dispatcher that the actor was having chest pains and breathing difficulties in an audiotape of the call released by the Martin County Sheriff’s Department.

Wisconsin Man Riding Home From Church With Grandmother Handcuffed

A Wisconsin man was handcuffed for approximately six minutes after the vehicle he was in with his grandmother on their way home from church was pulled over.

A Wauwatosa police officer pulled over the vehicle carrying the 18-year-old man, his grandmother, and another woman on Sept. 2, just before noon.

The officer told a dispatcher over the radio that he had flagged down a vehicle that might be linked to a recent robbery.

Missouri College Drops Nike After Kaepernick Campaign Rollout

A college in Missouri has announced that it’s dropping Nike, following the rollout of a new campaign featuring controversial former football player Colin Kaepernick.

The College of the Ozarks, a private Christian college in Point Lookout, said in a statement that it would choose its “country over company.”

Jason Hairston, Trump Jr. Hunting Partner, Dead at 47

Jason Hairston, a former NFL player and hunting partner of Donald Trump Jr., has died at the age of 47.

“We are shocked and saddened to announce the tragic passing of KUIU founder Jason Hairston,” his hunting company, KUIU, wrote on Twitter on Sept. 5. “His legacy lives on in KUIU’s spirit of relentless innovation.”

The company later said on its website that he “took his own life.”

Enormous Alligator Stalks Across MacDill Air Force Base

Airmen at MacDill Airforce base have a golf course on the facility to help them relax on their off hours.

One questions how relaxing a trip to the links might be, though, if it were interrupted by a small dinosaur.

U.S. Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant Jake Sherrock was driving peacefully through Bay Palms Golf Course on the grounds of the air base in the South Tampa, Florida when he spotted a creature bigger than his golf cart.
