A biker in India is being hailed as a hero after he stood up to a Jeep driver who was going the wrong way on a one-way street.

A video of the incident was uploaded to Facebook by user Nilay Verma in Indore, India, who said he knew the biker.

The motorcyclist can be seen parking his bike in front of a black Jeep as it tried to make its way against the flow of traffic.

The Jeep moves forward as if about to run over the biker. But the biker holds his ground and the Jeep stops.

The two sit facing each other in a standoff.

Then the biker takes a photo of the Jeep’s license plate, and in retaliation, the Jeep driver gets out the Jeep and takes a photo of the biker’s.

Apparently the Jeep driver didn’t feel satisfied because he then lashes out at the biker, hitting him while he’s still sitting on his bike.

The two tussle for several seconds before onlookers step in to pull them apart. The Jeep driver’s shirt can be seen open as he returns to his vehicle, and he takes it off as he gets inside.

“World need more people like this [motorcycle] rider,” Verma wrote on the post, “Highly appreciable initiative, my salute.”

The video has been shared over 7,200 times and has over 12,000 comments.

Many of the comments hail the biker’s courage, as well as express disappointment that no one stepped in to take on the Jeep driver, who was much taller than him.

“There was not a single person who could stand with this courageous person ... pity,” wrote one commenter.

“If the crowd had stood beside him, the goon [Jeep driver] wouldn’t have dared to raise a hand,” wrote another.

“The question is, why are these goons so confident that nothing would happen to them even after thrashing someone in daylight? I hope this video reach the law makers and he gets the punishment,” wrote another.

Next to the video, Verma posted a photo of what appears to be a police report of the incident with the comment “Satisfactory enough...”
