The lawyer of Vhong Navarro has lambasted the camp of Roxanne Cabanero over saying that there wasn’t an exact date in Cabanero’s rape complaint against Navarro.
The increasingly criticized complaint listed April 24, 2010 as the date of the alleged rape.
That date has come into question as two hotels denied that Cabanero stayed at them that night, and Vice Ganda came forward to say that Navarro was with him on that evening as a guest performer at his Island Cove concert.
The management confirmed that Navarro was there that night.
Responding to Ganda, Cabanero’s lawyer Virgilio Batalla claimed that he had never said which date the alleged rape happened.
Navarro’s lawyer Alma Mallonga told ABS-CBN that Cabanero’s camp is now trying to adjust after the new evidence came forward.
Mallonga previously said that Navarro will sue Cabanero for perjury and libel over the rape claim.
Mallonga emphasized that Batalla’s statement that the date was never put down is false.
“Tingin ko, napako sila. May lumabas na mga ebidensya. Ngayon, nag-aadjust sila. Pero huwag mo sasabihin na ‘yung reklamo nila, puwedeng anytime from April 24 to 27. Hindi ’yun totoo. Hindi kami bulag. Nabasa ko, hindi ako tanga, naintindihan ko ang nakalagay doon,” she said.
Cabanero seemed sure of the date and time of the alleged rape when she first came forward, Mallonga said.
She said that it’s just another indication that Cabanero’s camp is lying.
Outside lawyer Lorna Kapunan confirmed that the date of the alleged rape is mentioned in Cabanero’s affidavit.
