A US Navy underwater construction team responded on Sept. 28, when an Air Nuigini flight crashed into the lagoon just short of the runway at Chuuk International Airport in the Federated States of Micronesia.

The team was on hand working on improving the wharf area in Chuuk and other operations, the Navy said.

The Boeing 737-800 aircraft was on a scheduled stop in Chuuk on its route from Pohnpei, Micronesia, to its final destination of Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. All the passengers and crew were rescued.
