After Ashley Lang lost her beloved dog Wagner after 12 years, she wanted to say goodbye one last time.
She went with a friend to spread his ashes at his favorite park, and in that moment her friend decided to pull out her iPhone and take a photo.
What the captured on camera was completely unexpected.
The ashes in the chilly sunlight turned white before they dissipated and set on the ground—and formed the most telling shape.
It was as if they formed the shape of a dog, and Lang believed it was Wagner’s way of saying goodbye one last time as well.
“It’s pretty remarkable…the tail and the legs and he looks like he’s, you know, leaping to go up,” Lang told CBS Chicago. “Everyone keeps calling him the angel dog.”

The amazing image resonated with many pet owners and others.
Most folks know when animals die, they go to heaven. This image of ascension leaves me with no doubt.
