In the quaint town of Enid, Oklahoma, the East Maine Bridge has developed quite a reputation for itself.
With just 11 feet clearance from the surface of the road, the bridge has a sign clearly marked to tell truck drivers that they have no realistic hope of making it under unscathed.
Despite the persistent warnings, though, drivers continue to make bargains against fate (and physics) and live on a prayer, driving under the overpass and destroying their trailers in the process.
With an estimated three truck victims a month, the bridge has become such a ludicrous attraction that town members painted shark teeth onto the low-hanging ledge, giving it the appearance of a cinematic Jaws encounter alla highway.
Although you’d think that the teeth would deter a few more of the foolhardy drivers, though, people just don’t seem to learn.
Knowing that the town has created an entire Facebook page for the bridge, filming truck after truck as they barrel towards the cartoonish chompers, comical eyes, and blatantly flashing lights warning the impending fail.
Sure enough, this local pulled out her camera and started rolling as she saw a truck coasting towards the shark bridge with no signs of slowing down. Take a look at the footage she caught—but her remark at the end may be the icing on the cake!
