Meet Chunk, the aptly-named English bulldog puppy, who is pretty excited about his new bed.
Chunk’s owner just bought him a brand-new memory foam bed, and the four-month-old puppy can’t contain his joy, as you can see in the video below.
While Chunk seems to be simply rolling around with unrestrained glee, dogs actually have very specific reasons for walking in circles and digging at their beds before laying down to sleep.
Dogs instinctively circle their sleeping area to establish comfort and safety, while ensuring they have found the best place to settle down. Circling also leaves a dog’s scent in the area, marking their sleeping spot with their own branded aroma.
Dogs also tend to jump up and down to flatten leaves and grasses, kick away any uncomfortable rocks, or drive out any creatures that may disturb their sleep.
Fortunately, Chunk doesn’t have any of these problems to worry about in his comfortable home!
