Meet Samson, who is not your ordinary Main Coon cat. Nearly the size of a full grown bobcat, this adorable gentle-giant is more than a handful for his human owner.
Jonathan Zurbel from New York adopted a 4-year-old cat named Samson from his brother, who could no longer look after the animal because of his work schedule. But, Samson is no ordinary feline. This Main Coon weighs in at 28 lb., and measures nearly 4 feet long—practically a Guinness Record. The current Guinness World record holder, Stewie, who measured at 4.04 feet had passed away in 2013. Samson is literally a “behemoth” of a housecat.
“Samson is a very sweet but a tough cat, who fits the term gentle giant very well,” Jonathan Zurbel, Samson’s human dad, told Love Meow. “He is not fat or overweight but a strong Husky sturdy cat,” he added.
Main Coons are the largest variety of housecat, and were bred to withstand the harsh New England winter.
Samson is large even by Main Coon standards. Now 4 years old, this fur ball has grown to be about the size of a bobcat.
Samson’s pointy ears only accentuate the bobcat resemblance.
Nevertheless, Zurbel attests that this fur ball is just a big gentle giant. Samson enjoys laying around the house, while keeping an eye on his human, as well as snuggling, giving stomach massages, and playing fetch. Samson also wakes up his owner every morning to play for a bit before Jonathan heads off to work.
This big fur ball loves taking up half the bed!
Samson loves to give his owner a good tummy massage.
As a rule, this big ol’ bobcat loves tummy rubs, and taking up the bed. In terms of personality, Samson is as bountiful as he is big.
