Kids can be extremely cruel, especially to each other. So, when Ana Barbara Ferreira, a teacher in São Paulo, Brazil, heard that one of her students was being bullied, she felt she had to do something more than comfort her student with her words.
In a Facebook post that has gone viral, Ferreira wrote how one of her students approached her and told her that a fellow classmate called her hair “ugly.”
Understandably the little girl was “very sad.”
One day one of Ferreira’s students told her a boy picked on her because of her hair.
In that moment the teacher told the little girl that she was perfect just the way she was and advised her not to pay attention to the boy teasing her about her hair.
And though that normally may have been the end of that, Ferreira thought she could still do something more.
The following day Ferreira showed up wearing the same hairstyle as the little girl.
The next morning Ferreira wrote she was still thinking about her student and how she felt. Ferreira went to school the next day wearing her hair exactly like her student and the little girl couldn’t have been more excited.
“When she saw me, she came running to hug me and say that I was beautiful,” she wrote on Facebook.
Many praised her action and thanked her for being a teacher who truly cares for her students!
