If you’ve ever gotten a Fitbit or any similar wearable tech you might understand how quickly someone can get obsessed with counting steps and gamifying fitness.
Jennifer Gelman, mother of four, uses time with Ethan, Adam, Max, and Gavin to get in her workouts.
Gelman, who was born in California but is now based in Azerbaijan, told Daily Mail that she wanted to maintain her physique but found it hard to schedule in her fitness routines between loading the dishwasher, cleaning the living room, picking up the kids, and so on.
So she found a way to do both at the same time.
“Before having children I was very active,” Gelman said. But at the same time, “As a parent, I need more energy, stamina, endurance, and strength than ever before.”
“Making time for fitness had given me these things, and it also helps me take better care of my family. I know how hard it can be to make time for fitness with a family, but I also know that with a little creativity it can be done,” Gelman said.
“Since there’s always so much to get done in a day, I’m a big fan of combining fitness with everyday demands—and that’s where I look for inspiration.”
