In this video, a bird is plucking fur from a sleeping Labrador retriever, Maple.

The owners of the dog said that they had filmed the bird three times flying down to pluck fur from the sleeping lab. The bird would fill its beak with loose hair from the dog’s coat and then fly back to fill her nest with the fur. Some viewers of the video wondered how the bird could see with so much fur.

The dog occasionally wakes up, but it does not seem to mind. This may not be a common practice for birds, but we hope it is a symbiotic relationship!
