You can hardly see a runway in this snow-capped airport in Antarctica. Yet the pilot manages to land the rescue plane on the seashore airport.

The plane apparently flew too low as it lands on the snow. This Brazilian Air Force pilot crash lands the plane at Teniente R Marsh Airport, Antarctica’s northernmost airfield on King George Island.

The crashing causes a small explosion while the plane skids off the runway. Luckily, it does not explode and eventually stops on the snow. A firefighting truck rushes to the rescue, while several passengers are seen getting off from the crashing plane in the video.

This Hercules C-130’s engines and lubricants had been removed to prevent leaking from causing any environmental impact to Antarctica.
