Puppies, by nature, are curious little creatures. So, you must always keep a careful eye on them. Unfortunately for one puppy, his owner took his eye off him for a little while and as soon as that happened this pup named Blaze found himself in a bit of a sticky situation.
When Blaze’s owner checked up on him he noticed that the coonhound had gotten his head stuck in a tire. Without wasting any time Blaze’s owner rushed him and the tire to the vet.
Unfortunately, when they got to the animal hospital, the doctor didn’t know what to do. After some quick thinking the hospital called the local fire department and asked if they had any extrication equipment and if they could bring it to the animal hospital. They did, and the firefighters showed up shortly after they hung up the phone.
Luckily for Blaze, very little equipment was required to get him unstuck.
When the firefighters arrived they accessed the situation and determined they didn’t need any heavy duty equipment, all they needed was “coconut oil, patience, a lot of ear tucking, and some powerful skin-pulling.”
The fire department wrote on their Facebook page that throughout the entire ordeal Blaze remained extremely calm. He didn’t even make a noise!
Someone looks happy to be a free puppy.
And of course every rescue mission isn’t complete without a photo of the rescuee and the rescuers!
Thankfully this incident had a happy ending and we’re sure Blaze learned his lesson, or at least we can only hope he learned not to go sticking his snout into tiny holes anymore.
While this is hopefully the last time we hear about Blaze needing a rescue, it certainly won’t be the last time we hear about a curious dog sticking its head through a hole.
Check out this dog who couldn’t help but wonder what was on the other side of the brick wall.
