When Denver-based photojournalist Kelly Sommariva was told to take her camera and go film the otters in a tank, she did as she was told—unsure, at the time, of why she’d been assigned to that particular task.

Unbeknownst to her, though, there was a surprise waiting in the tank!

While she watched the sleek, fun creatures, Sommariva noticed that one of the otters had flipped a waterproof sign up from the bottom of the enclosure.

Confused, she read it out—then realized exactly what was going on.

The sign was a spoof on the iconic Old Spice commercials, reading just like the lines from the comically interesting men from the TV adverts.

“Hello, Kelly … look at us,” the sign read.

“Now look at your man. Now back at us, now back at your man.”

Overwhelmed by the realization of what just happened, Sommariva turned around—and sure enough, she found her long-time boyfriend Mike Jensen standing right behind her.

Her reaction is absolutely perfect!

Jensen had planned the entire thing out ahead of time, arriving at the aquarium early to get the sign put into the enclosure and hiding out until Sommariva was correctly positioned in front of their furry, adorable proposal helpers.

Needless to say, it looks like she’s pretty pleased with how everything worked out. That’s some ingenious boyfriend thinking.
