Owning a house comes with many responsibilities, and in this case, restoration was the order of the day. By working his way through the roof of the kitchen, this man found a bag containing an album, but to whom did it belong?
Megan and Bobby Kapsidis had been living in their house for eight years. They both felt that their home needed alterations and improvements. The kitchen ceiling seemed to be the best place to start with. After tearing through the wood shavings, something dropped out of the ceiling. It was a bag, and it contained something mysterious.
Megan explained, “Bobby was tearing down the ceiling when, all of a sudden, a bag fell on him.”
Bobby carefully opened the strange bag and pulled out an album filled with photos! They were not just ordinary, everyday photos either, as, when he turned the pages of the album, he noticed they were high-quality wedding photos of a very pretty bride in a gorgeous wedding gown with her handsome groom.
The album contained a collection of their wedding photos dating back to 1963. The story of their wedding day, held at a ceremony in New York, was clearly set out in a sequence, complete with invitations.
Bobby and his wife felt touched and curious. Wanting to know who the couple was, who had been “living” in their ceiling all these years, they set out to find the answers. After a social media search turned futile, they posted photos of the album with the local media, and lo and behold, the beautiful lady from the photos, named Marguerita, responded.
Marguerita was living in a nursing home, and Joseph had already died after suffering from Parkinson’s disease. Apparently, the couple separated shortly after their wedding.
Megan and Bobby were happy to return her long-lost album to her. Perhaps the album will rekindle Marguerita’s memories of the man she once loved, and even bring her a little comfort in her old age.
