Being a mother is among the hardest jobs you can possibly have. It’s a non-stop ride that’s just as stressful as it is rewarding. The catch is that it never stops, no matter what goes on in life.
This is the problem that Kimberly Henderson faced. The singer and mother of three from South Carolina was in a tough spot years ago.
Henderson already had three kids, and her then-boyfriend wasn’t being loyal.
On one particular day, Henderson could not stop crying.
“It’s a day that I will remember and I remember every single detail of that day,” she said. She even recalls that she wore a pink t-shirt drenched from her tears.
The stress of finding out she was bringing a fourth child into the family was only worsened by her car breaking down and calling a sitter last minute for one of her sick daughters all in the same day. Add to that the boyfriend situation, and it all became too much for her.
Henderson felt like her world was coming apart, and didn’t know how to stop it.
But that same day, a note with a verse from the Bible fell out of her purse.
The verse from the book of Isaiah said, “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.”
“I knew God was speaking to me,” she said in her post.
After feeling lost, this note had miraculously appeared and changed everything. She had gotten the note from a table at her job a few days prior, but it falling out of her purse randomly meant something to her.
This turned around her entire mood. From that point on, the woman was able to hold her head up high and look at the positive.
Anyone in her shoes would’ve been overwhelmed too; she just needed a little support to help push on. And she knew that she just needed a sign from God to see that.
“No matter what your circumstances are God doesn’t make mistakes and he is here for you.”
With her new attitude, and after a stressful pregnancy, Henderson gave birth to Vaida Everly months later.
And Henderson said her daughter’s name means “beautiful life.” The mother knows that each child is a gift, and Vaida is one as well.
“She gave me a feeling of joy I can never explain,” she said in the post.
Henderson’s post has amassed almost 1 million likes on Facebook.
Thousands of people resonated with the mother’s story. But the mother and child’s story wouldn’t end there.
When Vaida was just one, Henderson thought her best option was to sing her to sleep one night.
In 2014, her friend had posted a video of Henderson on Facebook singing a cover of the song, “How Will I Know” by Whitney Houston, while holding Vaida in her arms. Her friend, amazed by Henderson’s singing, wanted to share it with others.
She didn’t expect it to reach millions.
A video of the mother singing Vaida to sleep went viral, getting over 20 million views on Facebook.
The beautiful singing not only lulled her daughter to sleep, but appealed to millions of ears, and Henderson was able to release her first single, “Tiny Hearts.”
“She was meant to be here,” she said in her Facebook post. Henderson does not regret stressing over Vaida one bit; this little girl, now four years old, completes her family. It’s good to see that Henderson is in a much better place, and hopefully her faith can help her continue being the best mother she can be.
