Wendy reluctantly gave up her daughter for adoption decades ago.
She was only 19, and she knew she was unable to give her baby what she deserved. Wendy never knew whether they would meet again, but unbeknownst to her, fate had it all under control.
When Wendy got pregnant, she struggled with the decision of whether to keep the baby.
“Whatever you decide, we’ll support you,” said her family, according to Inforum.
She knew she wanted what was best for the little girl, and she finally decided to let her go to an adoptive family.
Putting her lovely baby up for adoption was not easy, but she believed it was the best option for her daughter to have a good life.
Wendy was only 19 years old when she gave birth on January 21st, 1980. Fortunately, she was able to spend a little bit of time with the newborn, who she would always remember.
Soon, the little one was adopted by a loving family that called her Heather. Wendy always thought of Heather and hoped one day they would meet.
The family who adopted Heather was a happy family who loved and cared for her. Heather even had a sister!
Heather grew up and got married to a man named Eric after completing her education. They had a daughter by the name Sophie.
Wendy went on to have two more children of her own. Although she had two kids, she never stopped thinking about the beautiful baby girl she gave up at birth for adoption.
Wendy and Heather had lived close to each other in North Dakota, but they never knew they were related. At times they even saw each other, but they reacted to each other as total strangers.
In the year 2014, Wendy secured a job in the social service that helped her place Heather up for adoption 36 years ago. She decided it was the perfect opportunity to start searching for any information about Heather and the whereabouts of her. The discovery of her search was incredible. It is a simple proof that destiny can often reveal something completely unexpected.
It was during the meeting when they made a shocking revelation. More than ten years before, they had worked in the same departmental store. Wendy Novak was in customer service, while Heather Swenson worked at a cosmetics counter.
They had noticed a physical resemblance, but they never thought they could be actually related.
“I just remember her, she was always the nicest,” said Wendy. “And I remember her smile.”
