A kayak tour guide stumbled across a beached baby Heaviside dolphin and helped it return to the sea.

According to Time, Naude Dreyer of Pelican Point Kayaking was leading a group along Walvis Bay in Namibia when they spotted the dolphin.

It looks similar to a small orca, or killer whale, and are also sometimes mistaken for porpoises. Heaviside dolphins (also Haviside, or Benguela) tend to not get very big but can grow up to 6 feet in length.

These dolphins are found off the coast of Namibia and South Africa, and are social creatures that swim in groups of five to 10.

Dreyer picked up the small Heaviside and put it back into the water, after which it swam away.

He posted the video to Facebook and wrote:

“I’ll do a drive past the same area again later just to make sure he hasn’t returned again.”
