A man narrowly escaped his smashed car after getting knocked to his side in the vehicle as he attempted to cross the moving waters.

The Rimac River near Lima overflowed in March, setting off some of the worst flooding in Peru in decades.

The man’s car gets violently tossed around before it lands hard on its side, and his windshield shatters.

The car gets stuck between a rock and a hard place which in this case was good luck—he escapes out the broken front window onto the rock and a bystander helps pull him to safety.
