Toddlers are always on the go. It’s natural and beneficial that they are so active—but they just don’t understand how they make adults’ hearts pound when they put themselves in danger.
Sean Deeds was driving down a residential street in Washington state, when he noticed a little boy run past him on the road.
Surveillance video showed the heart-stopping footage of the 4-year-old boy in a red shirt, who was just moments away from running into a busy intersection.
Deeds stopped his car, and without thinking twice, he jumped out, ran around the hood of the car, and chased after the little boy.
Miraculously, he caught up with the child just in time!
A police car soon arrived and an officer took charge of the child, whose parents had been looking for him. The officer kneeled down next to the boy and appeared to share some words of wisdom about the dangers of the road, according to Liftable.
Deeds had been on his way to take his own son fishing at the time—fortunately his father instincts kicked in and he helped save the boy from potential danger.
After Deeds made sure the child was safe, he got back into his car and continued on his way.
However, no one got a chance to thank Deeds for his heroic action. The Federal Way Police Department shared the video on their Facebook page in hopes it would help identify the man, and it worked!
Deeds told local media that he did not need any praise for what he did. He just hoped that his actions will encourage people “watch each other’s back,” according to Liftable.
