For Jessica, holding her 10-week premature son Hugo on her chest was a life-changing moment.

Hugo was delivered by C-section, and then taken to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit as Jessica waited. Babies born this early can have a tough beginning, and are at risk for medical complications, but the majority of them do survive.
“Oh,” Jessica said as she held Hugo to her chest. “Hi. Hi, baby. Hello sweet man.”
