We’ve all been there; you get on what you think is going to be nothing more than an incredibly fun toy, only to realize far too late that you’ve bitten off more than you can chew.
What you don’t often see, though, is wild animals finding themselves in this predicament.
Mom Emma Heffernan from the suburbs of the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia caught a recording of this hysterical moment that an errant kangaroo got much more than he bargained for upon his discovery of Heffernan’s son’s trampoline.
Initially, Heffernan had begun recording to show that the already-bouncy marsupial had discovered the high-flying children’s toy. At the start of the video, the kangaroo isn’t actually moving; he’s noticed that Heffernan watching, but is frozen momentarily before he decides it’s time to make his big break.
Hoping for a quick getaway, the kangaroo goes to hop off of the contraption. What he wasn’t prepared for, though, was the trampoline to add a little bit of extra bounce in his step—literally—which sent the wild creature flipping right off and onto the grass.
The video quickly made the rounds just over the sheer absurdity of it all. After all, how often do you see a kangaroo—an animal we already consider to be quite bounce-friendly on its own—perched upon quite possibly the only children’s entertainment apparatus that could send him flying even higher?
Luckily, the kangaroo didn’t seem to be injured; but just watch what happens when he gets the extra boost in his bounce!
