If you’ve ever watched the Judge Judy television show, you may recall the theme music matches Judge Judy Sheindlin’s demeanor. Tough, no-nonsense, and full of impending (and sometimes intimidating) justice.
She may not have the most life-changing cases brought to her court, but justice is justice (and can be quite entertaining), however small!
Take for example this case between two justice-seekers having a disagreement over who owns a dog.
The plaintiff says his adorable dog, Baby Boy, took off one day, but search as he did, he could not find her.
The defendant, on the other hand, claims she purchased the dog from a woman in front of a mall for $50 as a gift for her mother. The dog belongs to her, she claims.
This little dog is seriously cute. Who wouldn’t want to keep him?
Enter Judge Judy! The two appeared on her show to resolve the dispute as to who really owns the dog. As is the formula for the show, Judge Judy asks both parties questions before ultimately coming up with a hopefully fair and accurate judgment in the case.
Justice is Served
But Judge Judy knew how to settle this canine custody battle without having to do anything herself. In a rockin’ judgment call, she has the dog make the decision by bringing him into the court room. The dog would obviously know who his owner was, and if both parties loved the dog as much as they say they did, he would certainly run to the correct owner.
So, who did the dog choose? The darling little pooch ran straight up to the plaintiff and hopped up and down excitedly, while the man started crying.
“It’s his dog,” said Judge Judy, as she got up and walked out of the courtroom.
Looks like Baby Boy is back home!
