The “Clown Motel” of Nevada, which has earned the title of being “the scariest motel in America,” is finally going for sale. The motel is complete with clown dolls hanging from the ceiling in the guests’ rooms, a collection of clown dolls in the hallway, and plenty other creepy features.
The motel can soon belong to anyone willing to pay the asking price of $900,000, but there’s a catch, a rule that the new owner must adhere to.
It’s like they’re watching you…always watching you…
Bob Perchetti, the current owner, opened the motel over twenty years ago after retiring. While it was his business partner who originally owned the clown collection, he still developed a love of clowns himself that continues to this day.
“I love clowns. I’ve never had a problem with clowns,” Perchetti admitted, according to Las Vegas station KLAS.
“[My business partner] had a house full of clowns, and he decided to bring the clowns up and put them to work,” Perchetti said.
Now, he feels it is time to move on with his life and sell the property.
“I’m going to go fishing. I want to go enjoy myself. I’m going to do a little camping with the grandkids,” he said.
Although Perchetti saw nothing wrong with stocking the motel full of clowns, some others who stopped by, found the place very disturbing, and sometimes even claimed that it was haunted.
But as much as Perchetti feels that it is time to part ways, he still loves his clowns and doesn’t want the last time he’ll see the clowns to come anytime soon.
“Oh, I’m going to miss the clowns… I’m going to come back and visit my clowns,” he explained, according to the AV Club. That said, the new owner should be willing to leave all the clowns as they are, and maybe even make sure to take care of them, including the creepiest ones.
Something tells me that’s a promise he intends to keep…
