The preservation of nature is a vital concern for many people in modern times. With forests and other habitats constantly being tossed aside in order to make room for new industries, these people worry about what will happen for future generations, who may grow up without seeing certain plants and animals.
One group knows that helping conserve such unique flora and fauna is a long and difficult job—but fortunately they were recently able to help save at least one animal that was stuck between a rock and a hard place.
One organization is helping preserve nature—one creature at a time.
According to their website, the organization Mossy Earth helps plant trees and work towards positive change for the planet’s natural environment—but sometimes, they’re called to undertake more unique actions.
One day a group of Mossy Earth workers were hiking in Sierra de Guadarrama, near Madrid, when they found something that stopped them dead in their tracks.
It was a little goat, stuck between two rocks.
Approaching the animal, the workers discovered that the animal was hopelessly lodged between two boulders. It looked hungry and terrified.
“We found this goat while hiking in the Pedriza section on the Sierra de Guadarrama near Madrid,” Mossy Earth explained to Bored Panda. “He was hanging by the horns fully suspended between two boulders. He had obviously been stuck for a few hours in this very uncomfortable position.”
The Mossy Earth workers knew they had to help the poor animal, so they quickly went to work creating a strategy to save it. Using their jackets, they created a sling that could be used to pull the goat out of its stuck position.
“After creating a harness made of our jackets, we were able to pull it out and let it go on its way,” Mossy Earth said.
The rescue was a success!
Although the goat was a bit frightened and dazed, it was not long before he was able to get up and move on. As for the Mossy Earth workers, they were relieved to see the goat was not injured.
“After freeing our new friend, it took him a few minutes to recover from the shock, but he ended up going on his way!” Mossy Earth said.
Mossy Earth posted the touching story on social media in hopes it would inspire other people to get involved in preserving nature’s magic.
