A grandma who bought a dinosaur birthday cake at a Costco in Mesa, Arizona was stunned after noticing a key detail on top.
“I started laughing and said ‘I think we bought a satanic dino cake,'” the six-year-old boy’s mother Jessica Eckerdt told IJ Review after the grandma noticed the odd part of the design.
It doesn’t stick out immediately, but a closer look confirms that the legs do seem to form the numbers “666,” which are commonly associated with evil.
But Costco employee Allison Logsdon says the design was accidental.
“I work for Costco and was a cake decorator for 5 years. The dinosaur should have a fourth leg and the feet do not curve into a 6. This is just a poor example of their design and is in no way a reflection of the company,” she wrote on Facebook.
Eckerdt says people are saying it’s sad that the design was pulled but that it’s not her fault.
“If they need to blame someone they should blame the decorator…who drew a dinosaur with three legs that look like sixes,” she said. “My cake looked nothing like it was supposed to.”
