Has your stomach ever suddenly sank after realizing you’ve made a most likely irreversible huge mistake? Stephanie Robertson-King’s teenage daughter recently had that experience, and it was all due to forgetting her wallet on the bus.

She was certain all of her cash, cards, and personal information would soon be in the hands of an unknown stranger. Who knows what they would do? She was left feeling scared and pretty vulnerable.

The devastated teen called her father in tears. Little did the family know that the stranger who found the wallet would be someone extraordinary.

“This gesture has doused my cynicism and restored my faith.”

In a Facebook post that has since gone viral, Stephanie wrote:

“Yesterday Baby Gurl calls dad crying – she left her wallet on the bus We’re all upset and she naively asks if she’ll get it back. Not wanting to crush her spirit anymore-I admitted it was highly unlikely.”

The mom knew the girl would probably never see her wallet again, especially since it had cash and all her identification in it.

But both she and her daughter got the surprise of a lifetime when someone came knocking on their door that night.

19-year-old Baxter showed up to the Robertson-King household looking for Stephanie’s daughter, 16-year-old “AK.” His purpose? To deliver the wallet she had forgotten on the bus.

“Get home and there is a young man banging on my door, stirring up the babies… ?Can I help you? He responds he’s looking for AK. ?So who are you?” Stephanie wrote.

The 19-year-old college student said he lost his own wallet a few weeks ago, and he know how horrible it felt, so he decided to do the right thing and make someone’s day.

The family couldn’t believe it. There really are good people in this world, and this young man is an excellent example.

Those aren’t tears of sadness. Those are tears of joy.

The family started chatting with the young man, and now he’s become an official member of the family.

“Dad took money out of his pocket and gave him what he had. I couldn’t let him go, we talked, he touched my heart some more so I reached into her wallet and gave him the $20 that was sitting there😜 Turns out young Baxter is 19, goes to school in NY AND is the son of a co-worker(small world)… This gesture has doused my cynicism and restored my faith. Mr&Mrs Charles Perkins you should be proud AND he has become an honorary member of our fam 😍”

Thousands of people were touched by Stephanie’s post. One Miami resident wrote:
