For the longest time, Zoe had wanted to be a big sister. But by the time she turned 9, she had lost hope of that dream ever becoming a reality.

“We had almost given up. We tried for 6 years, started when Zoe was around 3 or 4,” Zoe’s parents shared via Facebook. “We did several fertility visits and procedures, but decided we didn’t need to spend that much money on it, since we were already blessed with Zoe.”

Zoe resigned herself to the sad truth that she’d likely never have the younger sibling she always wanted.

That all changed the day her parents surprised her with some amazing news.

“After another couple years when Zoe was 9, it just happened … Our miracle, Cali Grace, came about!” her parents went on to say. “We did a gender reveal party with family and close friends.”

Zoe’s parents decided to break the news to their daughter in a very special way.

“We got her one of her favorite GiGi’s Cupcakes, and they put a little onesie on it that said: ‘BIG SIS’,” Zoe’s parents explained. “I didn’t expect her to show so many emotions, but she was overcome with joy!”

Their video on the Love What Matters Facebook page captures the moment when Zoe was told the news. Opening the box with the cupcake, Zoe starts off incredulous, but as the realization sets in, she is overcome by tears of joy.

Exclaiming excitedly, “Are you gonna have a baby?!” Zoe promptly breaks down into tears of pure joy.

“Zoe wanted a girl, and was so excited when there was pink in the icing! It is really like starting all over again,” Zoe’s parents said. “A 10-year difference, but I wouldn’t change it for the world!”

The heartwarming video of Zoe’s adorable reaction quickly captured people’s hearts, and has been viewed over 380,000 times, receiving over 5,000 likes and 300 shares. The comments are overwhelmingly positive, with many sharing how they have a 10 year age gap with their siblings or between their own children. Others stated that they think Zoe is going to make an incredible big sister.

“This really touched my heart. My sister and I are 10 years apart. I had the same reactions when my parents told me,” wrote one commenter.

As for Zoe, she’s just looking forward to finally welcoming the little sister she always dreamed of having into this world.
