Pam and Dave Zaring had paid a photographer for a nice, professional family photoshoot, and recently finally got the photos back.

Now, professional photoshoots, without saying, come with a bit of retouching. The lighting is fixed, the color balance adjusted—invisible edits are made so that the photos come out realistic, but great.

This was not what they received.

Instead, the Zarings opened the package to find six mindboggling photographs that had been retouched to the point where it’s beyond what you might receive from asking reddit’s photoshop trolls to “edit something out.”

Yes, this is real.

They paid an actual $250 for these images.

In case you’re wondering, this is what the family actually looks like:

The resemblance is uncanny???

So what happened?

The photographer told the Zarings that the shadows were really bad despite it being a beautiful, clear sunny day, but her professors had never taught her how to retouch photos, so she had to go at it on her own. Points for determination and follow through.

The Zarings were shocked, but ultimately it was a $250 well spent.

“Feel free to share,” they wrote on Facebook. “I literally have not laughed this hard in YEARS!!!!!”

“You can’t make this stuff up…..again, this is NOT a joke — final product.”

Ok. This is NOT a joke. We paid a photographer, who claimed to be a professional, $2-250 for a family photo shoot. …
