The dog in question, a 3-month-old puppy identified as “Chewy,” was found inside a bathroom at the McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas, along with a note from his owner. According to the horrific note, Chewy’s owner claimed to be in an abusive relationship and was trying to run away, but could not afford to bring him along on the flight.
Initially writing the letter as “Chewy” himself, she later explained that her ex-boyfriend had on one occasion kicked Chewy, and he likely needed medical attention. Claiming that she had no other option than to abandon the dog, the letter ends, begging the people who find it to love and take care of Chewy.
Fortunately, Chewy was soon rescued.
While the woman’s identity is currently unverified and her whereabouts are unknown, animal lovers can rest assured that Chewy is doing well. He was reportedly rescued by a traveler and is being housed at Connor and Millie’s Dog Rescue.
There has been an outpouring of people wanting to adopt him.
Hey Vegas!! Chewy here🐾🐾Is everypawdy done makin' all that loud noises and being silly??? Sounded scary like. Anyhoo:…
In fact, the shelter has already put a stop on applications for adopting Chewy due to the overwhelming response, and they advised people to keep looking for other dogs in need as an alternative.
