Imagine planning the perfect marriage proposal and then, when the moment comes, just as you take the ring out and you’re about to pop the question, the atmosphere is ruined by a piece of technology that has a mind of its own.
Unfortunately, for the unidentified couple in this video, that hypothetical became a sad reality.
This is the face of a man about to ask the love of his life to spend the rest of her life with him.
According to the description of the video, the proposal was set to happen during a trip the couple took to Iceland. While the two were visiting Bruarfoss Falls, Iceland, on March 1, he decided to ask his girlfriend one of the most important questions he’s ever asked.
Will you marry me?
He let the drone hover then walked over to her; nothing too suspicious.
It’s unclear exactly how he disguised his true intent; maybe he wanted to capture the scenery or maybe they planned on using the drone for a super cool photoshoot? Whatever he told her she didn’t appear to distrust his intentions.
They both watch the drone for a moment as it wobbles in the air, but then he directs her attention to him.
The drone seemed a bit unsteady, but he made no motion to stabilize it.
As he, probably, told her how much he loved her, the drone continued to wobble back and forth.
At the most crucial part of the proposal the drone begins to lose control, but he has no way of knowing because his attention is, obviously, all on his girlfriend.
He reaches into his pocket, takes out the ring, and it goes south, quick.
As the drone quickly spirals out of control you’re able to get a glimpse of the scenery and unfortunately there doesn’t appear to be a photographer or even a random tourist snapping photos, so chances are this footage is all they have.
Hopefully he learned his lesson and doesn’t plan on using a drone for the wedding!
