Driver Maxes Out Audi S4 as Police Give Chase
A man has been disqualified from driving after shocking police footage showed him going over twice the speed limit on a UK highway.
The prosecutor said it was one of the highest speed cases he had been involved in.
John Hornby, 62, pleaded guilty to speeding on the M3 in Hampshire, in the south of England.
An officer spotted the Audi S4 traveling at high speed on June 13 last year.
In the police dash cam clip, which can be seen above, the Audi can be seen initially pulling away from the high-performance police car, as they speed past other traffic.
The police are only able to reel him in when their own car reaches the maximum speed of the Audi S4.
Hornby was prosecuted for the highest speed his vehicle reached: 147mph.
Police Constable Foster said, “We see a lot of things in this job but even I was shocked to see someone driving at such high speeds.”
Hornby was fined £325 and ordered to pay £85 in costs and a £32 victim surcharge on Jan. 22, according to Hampshire Police.
The speed limit of the road was 70mph.
